Third Quarter of Alex's third year (Aug. 16th through Nov. 15th)

"Hi everybody!  Mom and I are making peanut butter cookies today!  It's really fun!"
His newest thing is to line up all his matchbox cars in a long row.

Alex and I went on a trip to Ontario and New York state from Sept. 10th through the 22nd.  Click here for the trip photos.

Alex and I went to Victoria for the weekend of the 16th of October for my father's 65th birthday.  Happy 65th Dad!

Here Alex and Nanna were having fun together.

We decided that Alex needed a small stepstool for using the toilet at my parents' house, so here my Dad and brother were building him a stepstool out of scrap lumber my Dad had lying around.
"It works great!  Thanks Grandpa and Uncle Michael!"
Here we have four generations represented: Great Grandpa, Alex, me, and Nanna & Grandpa.

My brother took these last three photos with his camera.

For my Dad's birthday my Mom threw a big party.  Alex's party shirt is one I brought back for him from Hawaii.

He would not hold still for this photo so this is the best we get.

My brother took this one too and I thought it was a neat photo.

I was getting Alex ready for bed while the party was still in full swing and he ran off before I could get his pyjamas on him.  This is the result.

Here's the whole family:
Here Alex and Michael were playing together and I was using Michael's camera.
I can't remember what they were watching on TV.  If it was golf, Alex wouldn't be interested, and if it was Dora, Grandpa wouldn't be interested.  So I can't figure it out.
Back home!

On this day Elizabeth came for a visit.  Here they are playing in Alex's bed.

"Today Mom and I are making chocolate ice cream!  This is good stuff!"
Kisses from Annie!

(That's what you get when you have chocolate ice cream on your face!)

I have no idea why I took this picture but I guess I thought he was being cute.
Another day, another cute Alex photo.
Today we're making chocolate chip cookies.
I thought this was a very fashion model-ish pose for him to assume.
Alex dressed up as a firefighter for Halloween.  This picture is taken on the 30th of October, when we decided to hit the local mall for trick-or-treating.  I wasn't sure what the weather was going to be like on the 31st, and I was unsure if I wanted to go trick-or-treating door to door in my neighbourhood, so I decided that going to the mall on the 30th wouldn't hurt, and then we could decide what we wanted to do on the 31st.
I love fleece footed PJs!!  They're so cute!  I don't want him to ever outgrow them!
Alex was using something to help him draw little circles and it inspired me to lend him one of my drawing templates.  No sooner had I shown him how to use it to draw circles, squares, triangles, etc. than he started lining up his little cereal bits in the template holes.
"Check it out!  This is my pumpkin!  I didn't do any of the work but I told Mom what to do and voila!"
And here's a photo of me, taken by Alex.  He is not very good at getting me in the centre so I'm not usually in focus.  This one turned out OK - not great but better than most.
Here are our two mean pumpkins.  I wanted to make mine (on the left) a happy pumpkin but Alex vetoed my plan and wanted two mean pumpkins.
"It's Halloween and I'm pretty excited!"
"Me, and my pumpkins!"
We decided to go out on the 31st after all, Alex dressed up as a fireman again.  He got a lot of candy too, even though there weren't that many houses offering candy.  He had a good time and he told me when it was time to go home so I didn't even have to convince him to quit at some specific time (I had only planned for us to go around the block and we made it about 85% of the way around before he decided he'd had enough and needed to go potty).
"Check out this big bag of candy, dude."
"We are at the park today and it is cold and wet.  But I like my new warm jacket!  Now I just have to convince Mom to buy me some mitts so I can play on the teeter-totter without freezing my fingers!"
Alex received this bead thing for his first Christmas and never really paid much attention to it.  On this day he carried it up from the basement and played with it for a long time.  I would love to know what goes on in their little minds!
Another picture of me taken by Alex.  This one is pretty good except for the fact that it was rotated off of horizontal by about 15 degrees.  I used my photo-editing software to rotate it so it looks right.  Not too bad.
I bought this little kids' table at IKEA (for really cheap!) and it's perfect for Alex to do his crafty stuff (painting, etc.).

In this picture we're eating our dinner at the little table because I was having the kitchen/dining room painted (the wall is still wet there, hence the shininess) and the big table was moved into the living room.

Here he is playing with (blowing through) Annie's "kong" toy.  I tolerate this because Annie doesn't play with the kong, therefore there is no dog slobber on it.

Check out the "Nemo" shirt - that was a gift from Aunt Sheila!  We like it!

Here Alex is hard at work with his paint bottles.  He also uses this little table for doing glue projects and beading.  It's a perfect little craft station.
"Bye bye folks!  See you all in February!"

On to the 4th quarter of Alex's third year
